Risk Management Inside Unity Academy: SL/TP Discipline I Learned
If I had to describe the one thing Unity Academy upgraded for me in six months, it is risk discipline. Here is the playbook I now follow.
Rule 1: never enter without an SL written down 🔗
If you cannot articulate where you are wrong, you are gambling. Every Unity signal includes a stop-loss; copy that habit into your independent trades.
Rule 2: position size from the SL, not the desire 🔗
Decide max risk per trade in $ first (mine is 0.5, 1% of trading capital). The SL distance and that $ together tell you the position size. Never the other way around.
Rule 3: take partials at 1R 🔗
Closing 30, 50% at 1R on most setups locks in real money and reduces revenge-trade pressure if the runner reverses.
Rule 4: if you move the stop, log why 🔗
Moving stops to "give it room" is the single biggest blow-up source. The journal forces accountability.
Rule 5: weekly drawdown ceiling 🔗
If you are -3R for the week, stop trading. Read, journal, walk, come back Monday.
